PRESS RELEASE FROM HITS.Inc.
SAUGERTIES, NEW YORK (September 8, 2011) — HITS, Inc. announced a deal today with New York City based Vox Tours to provide Pfizer Million Weekend spectators with live commentating during the inaugural Diamond Mills $500,000 Hunter Prix Final and the return of the Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix via Vox headsets on Sunday, September 11.
Created as a tour-guide audio service, Vox Tours New York is part of an international network of companies and was founded in 2001 in Europe. Vox Tours will bring their original headsets to HITS-on-the-Hudson during Pfizer Million Weekend and has joined forces with HRTV and A Good Show (AGS) to deliver, for the first time ever, a one-of-a-kind experience to spectators.
“Our extensive experience and our background in the tour industry set us apart from our competitors,” said Robert Dinkelmann, managing partner with Vox New York. “This will be the first time Vox New York is involved with a live equestrian event.”
The Vox Tours microphone system was developed as a means to create effective educational tours all over the world. It will now broadcast live commentating by Carolyn Conley, host at HRTV and the acclaimed voice-over talent of Mike Moran during the Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix and Diamond Mills $500,000 Hunter Prix Final.
Aside from being a professional trainer and horse sport expert, Moran has hosted and anchored numerous broadcast sporting events and been the voice of many national branded ad campaigns for Sprint, Adidas and Quaker Oatmeal. He will now bring his extensive commentating experience to the world’s richest weekend in show jumping at HITS Saugerties.
“I hope that everyone who uses the Vox radios will have a TV-like experience when listening to the commentary,” said Dinkelmann. “We are making anything possible short of instant replays.”
Coupling live action with expert commentating, HITS hopes to give spectators an experience they will not soon forget.
“We are setting a new standard for show jumping – not just with prize money – but with a top-of-the-line viewing experience,” said HITS President and CEO Tom Struzzieri. “Our goal is to deliver an exceptional product from all points of view.”
Commentating will also be broadcast live via webcast for those following the live action from home. Viewers can tune in here from anywhere in the world to be a part of equestrian history.
